Everything Begins From The Mind

Nothing that you do today whether good or bad happen automatically. Everything begins from the mind. You do good, because your mind is full of good things. You do evil, because your mind is full of evil things. The mind is the core of all action. Just like a good tree will produce good fruits, so do a good heart will produce good action. A bad tree will only produces bad fruits.

What kind of input do you give to your mind? That will determine the output. If you spend many hours inserting into your mind things that is not pleasing to God. Most likely your doing will be the things that is not pleasing to God. However, if your pleasure is on the things that is pleasing to God, such as meditating upon His Words, praying and worshipping the Lord. Very soon His Words will transform your mind. And this will lead to the transformation of your whole being.

Why many believers, no matter how much they try to change, they just can not make it. The reason is, because they are not willing to pay the price of spending time on meditating upon the Words. Only the Word of God is sharp enough to penetrate into our soul. Only the Words have the power to change us. If today, your desire is to have your life transformed, do this one thing. Saturate your mind with His Words. Replace all your unfruitful activities such as watching television, chatting, surfing the net, reading news paper, playing games, etc with reading the Bible. Do not worry even if you do not understand what you read, just read, read and read, make it your point to read minimum ten chapters a day. Do it now, and do it again tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and keep doing the same thing again and again, after ten days, you will notice that, it will become your habit. You will find joy, peace, love and strength in His Words.

As you continue reading the Words, reject, and refuse to give in to any kind of thoughts that you know which is not of God. Watch out what you read, listen and talk, and with whom you are fellowshipping with. If you spend more time with the ungodly people, very soon you will be become one of them. Spend more time with other believers. If you need a counseling, go to your pastor or your home leader. Never seek advice from the ungodly. NEVER means NEVER!

Pray without ceasing, spend more time to worship the Lord. Because while you are worshipping, your mind are focused on Him and Him alone. You can be assured that the more often you do this, the more sensitive you will be on the things of God.

Be alert all the time!

What Does God see in us?

It is very true God loves us with agape kind of love, that is unconditional love. However when come to chosing who is He going to use as His channel of blessing, it is very much depend on our character. When people see us, they only see us from our outward appearance. Nothing that they know what is within our heart. However when God sees us, He sees us from the inside; He sees our heart.

We can bluff man by putting on a “holy” mask, however we can never bluff God. He knows who we really are. Though the whole world praise us, because of what we display to them, God is not impressed. He is more interested in your character than what you can do for the world.

If you are the boss of a company, and here come the candidates for interview, who will you choose to work with you? You know the answer.
The truth is God does not choose careless, nonchalant people to do mighty works for Him.

Luke 16:10-12
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own?

There are three major matters that God normally see in us:

1) Money matters

The way you manage your finance, will determine how you are going to manage the work of God.

Luke 16 clearly outlines that financial stewardship is a qualifier for spiritual authority. I did not say financial means qualifies you, I said, financial stewardship does. In other words being faithful with what you have, be it little or be it much, in particular to be faithful in the visions of others as if they were your own. God looks for people who attend to the details of their lives and order their private worlds accordingly. This is what Matt 22 is telling us; God does not choose on the basis of giftedness, but of character. Many are called, many have gifts, but few qualify to be chosen.

2) Character matters

God has favorites. This may not be comfortable for people in a politically correct, 'Everybody's a winner, nobody is allowed to come last' society, but it is a cold hard biblical reality. David was chosen over Saul. Jacob over Esau.Abraham over Lot. Joshua over Moses - But remember Saul messed up, Esau sold his birthright, Lot chose where to live. Moses disobeyed God.The criteria used by God is totally different than what we would use. We have a tendency to promote people beyond there character according to there gifting - and we all have seen the broken lives that have resulted. Remember talent can take people places that their character can't sustain them.

3) Passion matters

1 Tim 3:1 says “ Here is a trustworthy saying: If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task.”

The word desire in Greek is oregomai and it means:To stretch one's self out in order to touch or to grasp something, as if you are to reach after something. Not to be satisfied, in all the right ways, till you obtain that which you are believing for. Opportunities are not 'things' we pray for - they are things we prepare for. And the truth of it is that our destinies are not made in the big decisions of our life, but the little quiet, unseen moments and personal attitudes.It is sadly true that many believers live low-level lives simply because they choose to have no ambition or no passion. Their complacent, inflexible and un-teachable attitude prevents them from bettering their lives for the good of God or those around them. I am not talking about an issue of having money, I am talking about an issue of stewardship. Doing the best with what you DO have, whatever that may be. We all have something to give, and we all have something we can do to improve our lives. God has given us the responsibility to steward three key areas in our lives - our time, our talent and our treasure.

Conclusion

Once again, I am NOT talking about the lust after money or material goods. I am talking about doing/being your best with what God has given you at this time in your life with the task at hand. The issue of passion was so critical to the Apostle Paul that when he made a list of leadership qualifications for Timothy, (1Tim 3:1), right at the top of the list ahead of being blameless, temperate, hospitable, able to teach, etc, was the quality of having personal desire of having a passion.Are you passionate? And if so, what for? What are you passionately preparing for? Things of a temporal nature or things of the eternal?I want to surround myself with passionate, prepared individuals who are determined to lay everything down for the cause of Christ. People who just don't want to be leaders in the body of Christ, but want to lead by the example of their life. Friend we are one generation away from revival or anarchy - and I truly believe we can make that difference.
